Abstract
In education, particularly in physical education and sports instruction, technology serves as a powerful tool that enhances teaching and learning processes. This developmental research aimed to determine the acceptability of demonstration videos as an instructional enhancement strategy in teaching fundamental basketball skills specifically shooting, dribbling, and passing among 30 Grade 8 students at Hercor College High School students and 5 experts during the 2025-2026 academic year. The research utilized a developmental research design, to create and validate the instructional material. The respondents consisted of 30 Grade 8 students and 5 expert evaluators in the field of sports and physical education. Adapted evaluation rubrics and survey questionnaires was used to measure the level of acceptability of the videos and the students’ proficiency in basketball skills. Data were analyzed using mean, frequency counts, percentages, and Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient (r) to the relationship between the variables. Findings revealed that the demonstration videos were “Highly Acceptable” across all components as evaluated by experts in consideration of content, formed, accuracy, organization of information, technical quality. Also rated as “Highly Acceptable” in considerations of visual clarity, demonstration, audio/cues, pacing and usefulness as evaluated by students. The results indicate that the integration of structured video demonstrations is an effective instructional tool that provides clear visual feedback and repeated observation opportunities, leading to improved skill mastery and engagement. The study concludes that technology-enhanced instruction is a valuable strategy for 21st-century learners in physical education.
