Abstract
This study aimed to promote postural wellness among college students in computing fields at the chosen school, through a chair-based movement program. The research evaluated the students’ postural health before and after the intervention, revealing significant improvements, particularly in the right arm (pretest: M = 1.83, posttest: M = 2.77) and left arm (pretest: M = 1.53, posttest: M = 2.50). The results showed a statistically significant difference (p < .001) and large effect sizes, indicating the program’s effectiveness in improving postural health. The study also identified barriers, such as space constraints and academic overload, while highlighting the program’s high acceptability (M = 4.66). Recommendations include integrating ergonomic practices into academic settings and considering long-term adherence strategies. This study fills a gap by focusing on targeted postural interventions in sedentary academic environments.
