Abstract
This study was carefully conducted to determine the level of knowledge of assimilation and the proficiency in sentence construction of Grade 7 students. It also aimed to identify whether a significant relationship exists between the level of knowledge of assimilation and sentence construction proficiency among Grade 7 students of President Manuel Roxas Memorial Integrated School – South during the School Year 2024–2025. The study employed a survey-correlational research design. The participants consisted of one hundred fifty (150) students selected from a total population of two hundred forty-one (241) Grade 7 students using stratified random sampling through Raosoft. The research instruments used were researcher-made tests on knowledge of assimilation and sentence construction proficiency. The independent variable was knowledge of assimilation, while the dependent variable was sentence construction proficiency. The collected data were processed and analyzed using computer-assisted statistical tools, including frequency count, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s r. The alpha level was set at 0.05. Findings revealed that the level of knowledge of assimilation among Grade 7 students was moderate, while their level of sentence construction proficiency was poor. Based on the results, a significant relationship was found between the level of knowledge of assimilation and sentence construction proficiency of Grade 7 students.
