Abstract

This study used a mixed method research design to ascertain the patrol strategies along with community engagement in relation to the police efficiency in the province of Capiz as basis for an enhanced police operation program for year 2024-2025.  The study’s participants comprised of 271 out of the 839 police officers in the province of Capiz selected utilizing the Slovin formula for stratified random sampling. The Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Guide and survey questionnaires served as the study’s research tools. The following were included in the survey questionnaires: A 75-item modified researcher-made Patrol Strategies Questionnaire; 30-item modified researcher-made Community Engagement Questionnaire; and the 30-item modified researcher-made Police Efficiency Questionnaire from Philippine National Police Manual (2021). The independent variables were the patrol strategies and community engagement however; the dependent variable was the level of police efficiency. The following statistical methods were employed in data analysis: frequency count, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Analysis of Variance, and Pearson r. The alpha level of significance for inferential statistics were set at 5%. The study’s overall results showed that 271 police officers’ responses regarding patrol tactics were “very high”.
