Abstract

This study generally aimed to comprehensively assess the integration of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in the junior and senior high school subjects in the public schools of Buenavista, Agusan del Norte. This research is qualitative considering that it sought to understand the insights from the DepEd focal persons on the integration of CSE in the junior and senior high school subjects, the experiences of the teachers, school heads, and DepEd focal persons, and the perceptions of the parents regarding the importance of integrating CSE to the junior and senior high school subjects. Based on the data, the following findings were obtained.  Sampled lesson plans in the junior and senior high schools of the Secondary Schools of Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, showed compliance with the content standards in the integration of CSE but with major improvements on the provision of activities along with the monitoring of targets and outputs. Respectful relationships, life skills for health and well-being, and critical thinking for decision making are mostly evident. Sexual and reproductive health and the promotion of human dignity are moderately evident. Other content standards are less evident.
