Abstract
Efficient school administration is essential to effective governance because it supports instructional delivery, promotes accountability, and ensures the timely provision of educational services. However, limited localized evidence exists on the efficiency of administrative practices and the challenges encountered by administrative personnel in public schools, particularly in Legislative District 5, Isabela. This study assessed the efficiency of administrative practices, identified operational challenges, examined the perceived effects of administrative tasks on school operations, and proposed improvements to streamline administrative processes. A descriptive-survey research design was employed, involving 40 administrative officers and teachers with administrative assignments from selected public schools. Data were gathered through a validated questionnaire, supported by unstructured interviews and documentary analysis, and analyzed using frequency, percentage, and weighted mean. The findings revealed that administrative practices were highly efficient, although respondents experienced serious challenges related to workload, manpower, records management, and technology. The study concludes that strengthening administrative support, digital systems, and workforce capacity can further improve school efficiency and enhance the delivery of quality basic education.
