Abstract
This survey-correlational research sought to determine the relationship among social media exposure, social behavior, and academic behavior of HUMSS students in the district of Pilar for school year 2025-2026. Data for this study was gathered using a modified questionnaires which composed of four parts: Demographic Profile, Social Media Exposure Questionnaire, Social Media on Social Behavior Questionnaire and the Social Media on Academic Behavior Questionnaire. All research instruments underwent face and content validation by the panel of experts. After the validation, the questionnaires were pilot-tested to thirty (30) students who were not part of the actual participants. Mean and standard deviation were used for descriptive statistics while Pearson r to test the significant relationship between the independent and dependent variables and set at 0.05 alpha level to ascertain the level of significance. The major findings of the study revealed that the level of social media of HUMSS students was high, their level of social behavior is high, and, their level of academic behavior was high. It was also found out that there were significant relationship between the social media and social behavior of HUMSS students, between their social media and academic behavior, and between the social behavior and academic behavior of HUMSS students. Thus, the findings implied that social media plays an important role in shaping how HUMSS students behave socially and academically. When used wisely, social media can help students improve their communication, teamwork, and learning. However, too much or careless use may lead to distractions and affect their studies. This means that guiding students to use social media properly can lead to better relationships and school performance. Teachers, schools, and parents can work together to help students use social media in a balanced and positive way that supports both their learning and social growth.
