Abstract
This study examined the effectiveness of professional development on the performance of non-teaching personnel in the Schools Division of Tabuk City. It specifically assessed the level of professional development engagement, employee performance, and the relationship between these variables. A mixed-methods approach using a convergent parallel design was employed, involving 103 respondents selected through stratified random sampling. Data were gathered using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using weighted mean, Pearson r, and thematic analysis. Results revealed that respondents exhibited a high level of professional development engagement, particularly in activities aligned with their field of specialization. Employee performance was found to be very high, with the majority obtaining Outstanding ratings. A significant and strong positive relationship (r = 0.68, p < 0.001) was identified between professional development and employee performance, indicating that increased participation in training contributes to improved job performance. Qualitative findings highlighted challenges such as time constraints, workload conflicts, and limited access to training, as well as the need for relevant and skills-based programs. The study concludes that professional development plays a vital role in enhancing employee performance and recommends the implementation of accessible, needs-based, and well-structured training programs.
