Abstract
This study examined the utilization of library services and the level of user satisfaction in Capiz State University Roxas City Main Campus, Philippines. The research employed a quantitative descriptive design to analyze the patterns of library use and the perceptions of users regarding the quality of library services. Data on the utilization of library services were obtained from the official library statistics recorded while data on user satisfaction were gathered through the institutional customer satisfaction survey developed by the University’s Human Resource Management Office (HRMO). The survey was administered to library users in April, July, and October 2024, and January 2025, with a total of 378 student respondents voluntarily participating. Results showed a high level of engagement with library services, particularly in library attendance and the use of digital resources. Library attendance recorded 15,229 visits, indicating that the library continues to function as an important academic space for learning and research. The utilization of online databases reached 610,281 accesses, demonstrating a strong reliance on electronic resources for academic work. In contrast, the circulation of printed materials was relatively low, suggesting a shift in user behavior toward digital information sources and the use of the library primarily as a study and collaborative space. The results of the library user satisfaction survey revealed a very satisfactory level of service showing that library users are generally satisfied with the accessibility of resources, quality of services, and overall library environment. The study concludes that the university library effectively supports the academic needs of its users through a combination of physical learning spaces and digital information resources. Continuous improvement in digital infrastructure, service delivery, and library facilities is recommended to sustain and further enhance user satisfaction and library utilization.
