Abstract
This study evaluated the effectiveness of a solar trainer kit in enhancing the competence and job readiness of Technical-Vocational- Livelihood (TVL) students in photovoltaic system installation at Talisay City National High School during the School Year 2025–2026. Using a descriptive– experimental research design, the study assessed the trainer kit’s technical requirements—including concept design, parts and functions, supplies and materials, and assembly—and its acceptability as rated by experts. The experimental component involved two groups of students: one taught using traditional instruction without the trainer kit, and another taught using the trainer kit, with pretest and posttest performance compared to determine learning improvements. Data were analyzed using weighted mean, standard deviation, paired samples t-tests, and independent samples t-tests. Findings revealed that the trainer kit met technical requirements, was moderately acceptable to experts, and significantly improved students’ performance, with the trainer kit group achieving higher posttest scores than the control group. Based on the results, a modular solar trainer kit is proposed, emphasizing industry-standard components, hands-on usability, durability, and clear assembly instructions. The study concludes that the solar trainer kit effectively develops practical skills, technical competence, and job readiness, providing a valuable tool for renewable energy education in the TVL track.
