Abstract
The study determined the child-friendly school system and its effect on learners in terms of: school attendance, learning outcomes, and involvement in school activities. The study used a descriptive research design where there were 191 respondents. The child-friendly school system involved the child health sensitiveness, learning effectiveness, classroom environment, and child protection and care. The effect on learners involved the school attendance, learning outcome, and involvement in school activities. The researcher found out that in the child-friendly school system, the respondents accept the benefits of child health sensitiveness to the learners. The respondents agreed that they acquire learning effectiveness through the child-friendly school system. The respondents also agreed that the classroom environment of the child-friendly school system is conducive to learning in educational facilities. A child-friendly school system, characterized by child health sensitivity, practical learning, a positive classroom environment, and comprehensive child protection and care, plays a crucial role in the development of learners in school. The effect of a child-friendly school system on learning outcomes, school attendance, and involvement is a necessary element for learners to achieve the goals and objectives of their studies. The test of difference reveals no significant difference in the level of perception regarding the effectiveness of the school system in terms of learning outcomes, school attendance, and involvement in school when grouped by grade levels. The different grade levels (grade 4, 5, and 6) are not differentiating factors in the effectiveness of the child-friendly school system on learning outcomes, school attendance, and involvement in school. The different grade level learners are homogeneous in their perception. Lastly, on the relationship, child health sensitiveness, learning effectiveness, classroom environment, and child protection and care significantly relate to the learning outcome, school attendance, and involvement in school. The researcher has conceptualized the following recommendations: first, school heads should regularly assess the health of learners to identify malnourished children. They should strictly monitor the feedback about the achievement of the learners in school. They should also maintain the cleanliness of the comfort room. They should promote awareness among learners about the disadvantages of bullying practices of some learners. The school head should provide learning materials to learners to study effectively in school. Next, homogeneous learners among different grade levels should be considered in a child-friendly school system. Lastly, researchers are encouraged to conduct research similar to the present study to verify the validity of its results.
