Abstract

Meaningful Research-Based Learning is an approach that engages students in authentic inquiry and real-world investigation to deepen understanding and develop critical thinking skills. This study determined the effectiveness of Meaningful Based-Research Learning in enhancing the critical thinking skills of Grade 10 students in high school Araling Panlipunan Classes, with the framework of the K12 Curriculum.Utilizing a one-group pretest-posttest design, the research analyzed the impact of integrating Meaningful Research-Based Learning on students performance. The study assessed pretest and postest scores across competencies related to dahilan, dimension at epekto ng Globalisasyon, Kalagayan at suliranin sa mga isyu ng paggawa, dahilan at epekto ng migrasyon dulot ng globalisasyon at mga saloobin tungkol sa epekto ng Globalisasyon.Significant improvements in posttest scores across all competencies demonstrated the effectiveness of Meaningful Research-Based Learning in engaging students and enhancing critical thinking. Moreover, student feedback highlighted positive perceptions of MRB, emphasizing its ability to improve their comprehension through organized content, visual learning aids, and interactive activities while also promoting deeper thinking and real-life connections. The findings underscore the potential of MRB to align with curriculum objectives, enhance critical thinking skills, and improve teaching practices in the Philippine educational context. This study recommends the systematic incorporation of Meaningful Research-Based Learning in teaching instruction to improve critical thinking, student engagement and academic outcomes.
