Abstract

This study explored the attitudes, engagement, participation, challenges, and potential intervention measures related to online learning in Health Optimizing Physical Education (HOPE) among senior high school students in Dasmariñas City, Cavite. A total of 500 respondents participated in the survey, providing valuable insights into their experiences with online HOPE education. The study focused on identifying key factors influencing students’ experiences and suggested actionable interventions to improve their online learning experience. The mean attitude score of 2.97 indicated a moderately neutral to slightly positive outlook toward online HOPE learning. Studies were generally open to online learning but expressed concerns about the lack of physical interaction and the challenges inherent in the virtual format. Engagement levels were moderate, with a mean score of 3.038, suggesting that while some students were actively participating, others were disengaged due to barriers such as lack of space, inadequate access to technology, and low motivation. The mean participation score of 3.002 revealed that many students participated occasionally in online HOPE activities, but there was a significant portion of students who rarely or never participated. The most reported challenges included lack of space for physical activities (40%), inadequate access to technology (30%), and lack of motivation (20%).
