Abstract
The National Electrification Administration (NEA) under the umbrella of the Department of Energy (DoE) has the mandate for rural electrification program in the country. At present, NEA is continually doing its best to serve the remaining households without electricity in the country (Laput, 2019). At this point, a study entitled: “Electrical Hazards and Safety Awareness among the residents of barangay Catlubong, Buguias, Benguet” was formulated. This study aims to get the level of electrical hazards and safety awareness among the residents of barangay Catlubong, Buguias, Benguet. In this study, the descriptive research design was used to describe the level of electrical hazards and safety awareness among residents before and after the intervention. Based on the result, the analysis revealed that the mean test scores of participants have a highly significant difference before the intervention (M = 9.675, SD = 2.422) and after the intervention (M = 15.850, SD = 1.210) at 1% level of significance. The result implies that the intervention (seminar) gave significant improvement on the level of electrical hazards and safety awareness of the participants. With that, it was then recommended that seminars/trainings on electrical hazards and safety must be maintained. If so, enhanced community-based training and or seminars should be made and implemented for further education.
